Coco peat (also called coco coir or coir pith) is a natural growing medium made from the fibrous husk of coconuts. It’s a by-product of coconut processing, making it an eco-friendly alternative to traditional peat moss.

Wash it twice with clean water before use. This helps the block fully expand and stabilizes the EC (electrical conductivity) by flushing out excess salts naturally present in the coir.

A single wash isn’t always enough to bring EC down to a safe level for sensitive crops. Washing twice ensures better salt removal and more consistent expansion, giving your plants a cleaner, more stable growing base.

A compressed block typically expands 5–9 times its dry volume once fully soaked in water, depending on compression and block size.
